Jazz Music

Stereotypes are very characteristic among any kind of person. I am sure that everyone has stereotyped towards others whether on purpose or not. Even if they did not mean any harm towards that person. I think that stereotyping is not right and very hurtful even if it is meant as a joke. Because not everyone will take it as a joke and that could cause bigger problems than just making a joke.These stereotypes happen in school most of the time. All students are capable of doing different things and just because you are that certain race doesn't mean that you automatically get good grades in school or get bad grades all the time , fail the classes. Stereotypes are always going to be around the world no matter what people say or do because as humans , even we mean no harm when we stereotype it always touches something somehow.

Recently me and my friend were listening to some instrumental jazz music and we both did not know who the artist or the ones who plays were and as i was talking to him i just said i am sure the saxophone player is African-American and he said that is stereotyping. i did not argue with him because i had no doubt that it was stereotyping but i just thought i did not say anything bad. If we look at he jazz saxophone players in the past , we could see that most of the are African-American.I think stereotyping has just bad reputation in community. when we call things like Asians are smart or most jazz saxophone players are African- American stereotypes it makes it sound like we have something against them but i do no think its stereotyping if we are indicating a proven fact and we are not discriminating.
